- Miyajima Visitor Tax (Hatsukaichi City, since 1 Oct 2023): 100 yen per person per visit or 500 yen for one year, collected with the ferry ticket; preschool children exempt. JR Pass holders pay it separately at the terminal.
- Ferries Miyajimaguchi-Miyajima: JR West Miyajima Ferry and Miyajima Matsudai Kisen, about 10 min, 200 yen one way. Only the JR ferry is covered by the Japan Rail Pass.

- The $45 'Hiroshima and Miyajima Day Trip' price on Viator is its 3.5-hour Miyajima-only option; the full 8-hour day is about $119.
- The $116 H.I.S. price is the From Hiroshima option; the Osaka, Kyoto and Fukuoka options add shinkansen tickets and cost more.
- Private guide prices cover the guide only: fares, ferry, entry fees and the visitor tax are extra.
- The great torii is no longer under scaffolding: work finished in December 2022.
- Miyajima can easily be visited without a tour by JR train and ferry from Hiroshima.
